A direct examiner is a senior paramedical examiner, often with 15 years or more of experience. They are selected by the large paramedical providers, as those with impeccable track records of quality and client satisfaction.
The purpose of direct examiners is to provide brokers / agents with an alternative to managed scheduling, as well as allowing the broker / agent to have a professional relationship with a select direct examiner(s). This method ensures that brokers / agents that want to know who will be doing their applicant's exams, will.
Direct examiners still bill and process through the large paramedical providers, thereby not changing the dynamics of the operation. For example, the electronic file image of the paramedical examinations, that the underwriters require, is uploaded and readied the exact same way, only faster. The billing is the same as well, there are no additional charges to the broker / agent or carrier.

No scheduling center issues or automated calls, you and/or your applicant (s) / client (s) will receive immediate scheduling. I, or my assistant, make and take all calls regarding orders and scheduling appointments. Most applicant / clients are contacted within the first 12 hours, many scheduled within the first few days.
Increased availability for applicant / client’s busy schedules. Offering early mornings, day times, late nights, and Saturdays, at the broker / agent's office, the applicant's home, or place of work.
Higher quality paramedical exams. Direct examiners make higher commission than contracted examiners. The exams that are done, are done by a business owner with vested interest in providing a professional and timely application process each and every time.
Peace of mind. The agents know that if they ever have any questions, that I or my assistant will be able to help them, in a timely manner, often immediately.
Brokers / Agents receive real-time email status alerts, notifying them of when their applicants / clients are scheduled and completed.
Applicant's / client’s completed exam paperwork is uploaded to your preferred HIPAA Compliant Vendor Site, typically within 12 hours of completion of the exam; Apps/Portamedic, Exam One, or EMSI, for viewing by the respective underwriting departments.
